Hi all. Hoping someone can confirm this.
I just got a very good deal on an SLX chainset from Merlin. £76 with their online discount.

I just realised that it is actually the 10 speed version, although it looks identical to the 9 speed version that I have been running on another bike for two years.
Does anyone know if this 10 speed chainset work with my 9 speed setup?

I emailed Merlin who promptly replied stating that 10 speed cranks work fine with 9 speed but some people report rougher shifting.
I'll be using it as a double on my Alpine 160 so I doubt the shifting will be an issue. It can't be any worse than the shifting quality of the Raceface crankset it will be replacing.
