I'm fancying building an inbred 29er and already have a pair of spanking Reba 29ers but in the 80mm flavour. From what I can see the On-One site says 100mm MAX travel which would suggest to me you could go a bit lower. Any experience of this mix
Also sizing, as is always tha case, I fall between 2 sizes. I'm a hair under 6' with a 33" leg. Sizing says either an 18" or a 19.5 would fit. Anyone of similar proportions to me on an Inbred?
I'm not your height (5'10") but ride a 18" with 80mm Rebas plus a 70mm stem and find it comfortable reach/size wise, but, I mainly use the bike with cross tyres on for commuting, for which it is prefect.
I do find when I put on 2.2 Kenda Nevgals to go trail riding that the BB is a little low, and the handling twitchy so I've been looking into raising the Rebas to 100mm by removing the internal spacer they apparently all have...to my best knowledge....
A lot of Reba's (a lot of RS forks) can be spaced out by +/-20mm or so. It's model specific, and I'm not any way an expert in which can and can't but peterpoddy of this parish knows a fair bit and did some Reba's for me.
My Reba's are single air which I'm told casnnot be re-spaced to 100mm, unless anyone knows different?
With regards to sizing, I'm the same height/leg as you and was torn between 18 & 19.5. I went for the 19.5 and it fits me nicely.
80mm will be fine - i changed to 100 mm i can tell the difference but i wouldn't say it's better - just different.
I'm about your height and ride an 18" with equivilent to 70 mm stem (90 but lots of sweep salsa bars)
my mate has a 19.5 and it would fit me too. try and get a ride on somwones...
