Hi,

Does anyone know where you can buy 8 speed Shimano shifters - I've looked on a few of the usual sites but no luck.

Cheers,

Jim

Not quite XT quality, but they should work.

Thanks Geoff, looks like a good fall back option. I have seen some Alivo shifters too, are these supposedly better than the R440 you suggest?

I have a set of XT 8 speed shifters. In very good condition, they were only used for about 12 months and no really rough off roading. If you're interested, let me know; bikeandy61@gmail.com

I use Alivio 8 speed on mine, never had any probs with them, and they're big muckle amounts better than the Sram X5 they replaced!

He'll only need one shifter for 8 speed 🙄

ps. Sram Attack/Rocket (cannae rem which of the 2 was discontinued) are decent 8spd shimano compatable shifters too.

actually Al, he said..

"Hi,"

"Does anyone know where you can buy 8 speed Shimano shifters"[b]

So with as good a grasp of English grammar as was once required on here he'd actually have been asking whether anyone knows of a shop with 8 speed shimano shifters (plural) in stock. With his casual disregard for the use of a question mark, WTF knows, eh? 😕

Old Skool SunTour thumbshifters aren't hard to find on eBay, will work with 7- or 8-speed Shimano cassettes and can even be hacked to work with 9-speed if you know what you're doing.
