Hi,
I am trying to source a roller brake 8 speed Shimano Nexus hub, with little success, anyone know anywhere that may stock them?
Also is the roller brake unit the same for all Nexus roller brake hubs?
This is for my partners bicycle and won't see any aggressive action, it already has a three speed hub, and she would like more gears for the hills.
Thanks

CNC bikes in Hamburg ? You might have to use a bit of google translate and have to buy a whole wheel, but they are v. cheap. (69euro for 26" wheel) You need to do the drop down box for rollen bremse plus buy usual shifter and fitting kit options. The other little quirk when I bought mine from them was they wanted bacs upfront, but I think that is quite common for smaller businesses in Germany. I ended up with a bit of to and froing with the owner, but they were friendly and as you would imagine, very efficient.ย ย Excellent service.
I think any rear shimano nexus rollerbrakeย will fit the nexus 8 hubs. The hubs that are sold without a rollerbrake have an easily removable plastic cap that exposes splines that the r-brake slots onto.
Just found this page on dutch bike bits about roller brakes - look at the additional images https://www.dutchbikebits.com/shimano-roller-brake
You can get pre built wheels and hubs via Taylor wheels in Germany - i've used them a few times for pre built dynamo wheels.
Sturmey Archer do an 8 speed with a drum brake:
This is quite good value

They also do 26 and 20 inch versions
