You'll struggle to find one campsite as the 7 stanes are quite spread out.

Try the campsite at kipford, (Kipford holiday park) it's mostly statics but has some nice individual pitches for tents-giving you your own space, showers are old but clean, pubs down in kipford are a 15 minute walk through the woods. Dalbeattie is just over the road, kirroughtree is just over half an hour away, mabie is about 20 mins. I've stayed a few times with some biking friends and found it perfect.

Go to find it...............

As above..Kipford which is near Dalbeattie, not far from Mabie and Ae, an 1hr from Kirroughtree, an hr from Drumlanrig and 1.1/2hr from GT & Inners.
Plenty good little supermarkets in Dalbeattie, small shop at Colvend which also has a cafe/restaurant. Good Italian and Indian restaurants in Dalbeattie.
Other campsites nearby are Sandyhills, Castlepoint and Islecroft.
Marthrown of Mabie also doubles up as a camp site nowadays with a short walk down to Mabie House hotel.
Can do a photo of Sandyhills tomorrow ๐Ÿ™‚

Mathrown of Mabie campsite would be good if its a group and Mabie house hotel is close by (1 mile) and does great food.

Barely a mile rd. The cafe at Mabie is also good for a meal. Strike it lucky for a Thurs eve and it could be open for post night ride snack which needs booking in advance.

http://www.kilnford.co.uk/restaurant/ also nearby as is the pubs in New Abbey. Can also recommend the Steamboat at Carsethorn ๐Ÿ˜†

How long's your visit? The Stanes are really pretty split up- Kirroughtree's about 2 and a half hours from Glentress frinstance so it's hard to have one location for all of them.

camping for Dumfries side sorted ^^^^^^^^ just needs sorting for your end ie GT/Inners ๐Ÿ˜‰

With Ae, Mabie and Dalbeattie being pretty close together and Drumlanrig just up the 76, Kirry only and 1hr away that is the best part of a weeks riding sorted from 1 base ๐Ÿ˜€

Aye, unless you've got a load of time on your hands then one side or t'other makes more sense.

There's camping at Glentress itself, including camping pods, seems popular.
