[#6753962]

I have an old touring road bike for repair. It is fitted with STI 105 3x7 shifters which are not shifting at all, tried lubing and new cables concluded that I need to replace them ,any suggestions where I might get similar. (in stock)
Thanks
Richard

Yes on ebay is if I get a retro set they might have the same issue. Yes 8 spd is an option too.

what's up with the 105's?

normal failure mode for those shifters is that the factory grease hardens over time and makes the ratchet pawls stick and won't engage.

A *good* flush with a solvent/degreaser and manual wiggling of the pawls before regreasing normally sorts them.
