[#273867]

So I got some flat pedals. Now I need to get some shin pads. Veggie wraps going cheap in CRC sale, but I seem to be somewhere between the L/XL sizes. Any views on fit from owners?

Cheers

Not good. Warm and uncomfortable, they dont breathe and they are itchy also they wrap your whole lower leg. Based on my experience of owning the older versions, I hated them. If it's just for xc, get some light knee/ shin pads.

Something like this shape.

I prefer knee pads myself, troy lee T- bones come pretty far down the shin and imo cover the part of the shin most regularly hit with the pedals.

If you're determined to get them - Im 5'9 but have very chunky legs. Medium was a perfect if slightly tight fit.

I'd say I've got pretty skinny legs, I wear a large. Medium would probably fit too.

I got large for the length as opposed to the diameter - they seem to come up quite short.

they are warm but they work well and at this time of year the warmth is quite welcome.

Beg to differ (tis the STW way) but i wouldn't ride in anything but Veggies (knee and shin combo).

I use an XL (am 6'7") but mainly for the length - the Veggie shins fit round my calves but i wouldn't say they are designed for larger calved riders.
