A speed/preferance thing? He always had stupidly slack/low bikes, his konas had the linkage fliped upside down and extra holes drilled in the frame to lower the shock mount.

Would quite like to try it though!

Whatever works for the individual.

I'd warrant that the speeds he's going, even on an XC/Trail ride when compared to us mortals, the slacker head angle will make sense. For those of us of significantly lesser ability, something that slack would feel very lethargic though.

Very interesting.

My Dune's 66 degree head angle makes it feel pretty similar to my Trek Session (65 degree HA). I bloody love it and it's a lot more rideable on the flat than I expected.

He must have buns of steel riding the Trans Provence on a WTB Silverado. Least comfy saddle I ever had.

Not on those trails it wouldn't.

I ran about 64.5 on my prophet (65.5 standard with 140mm but running 160mm) and it does feel a little funny on the flat but talas/ 2 step is great for that. Really liked it on downhills though
