Off to Fruita and Moab next year and need to hire a van(?) to transport 6 of us plus our bikes. Most of the hire companies only seem to do minibus type hire, with limited cargo space, or cargo vans with only 2 seats. A pickup can only carry 5 passengers according to the rental sites, so, has anyone else had experience of renting large cargo/multi seat vehicles in Denver?
Would prefer to keep it to one vehicle if possible, thanks.

We took 6 in our rented pick-up. There was a small seat in the middle in the front. It wasn't very comfortable but it worked. They didn't seem especially fussed about people sat in the flatbed too if you aren't going far. Another option is two cars. Small cars are way cheaper to hire, probably less than half the price of a pickup. Might give you more flexibility and some A to B options for riding
Get 2 vehicles. With care you'll get 3 bikes, with front wheel off, maybe both, in most vehicles with enough space for 3 people. 2 vehicles will help when you want to ride The Ribbon. You WILL WANT to ride The Ribbon.
2 smaller vehicles = more versatility = maybe less cost.
I'd say van and car, just keeps things simple and you can take the car to the shops etc. and leave the bikes in the van

For 6 people and 6 creek boats we hired a car and a white van in San Francisco
All the boats in the back of the van. Sorted.
Did some more digging last night at work. There is a company renting out Sprinter crew cabs in various States. Hopefully they won't be too expensive.
