[#1747913]

I'm after some decent wheels to go on a 'mini dh/general mucking about' bike. I have a budget of £550ish.
I was looking at some mavic Crossmax SX is there any alternatives I should be concidering? I have a 20mm bolt through fork and standard qr rear but would like the option to change it to a bolt through rear. I'm trying to keep the weight down as my current set are a bit too beefy.

Also has anyone seen any decent deals on the crossmax SX's?

cheers all!

yeah, I've got some pro II/mavic on another bike and want something different. The loud freehub is putting me off too, just a little niggle but i do find it VERY LOUD.

I've just got some Crossmax SXs. The rear are QR and I don't think you can change to bolt through.

Yes you can (assuming 2009/10 design), just remove the QR inserts to go 12mm bolt through or get some Mavic adapters to go 10mm bolt through. Very simple to switch between these.

In that case, I stand corrected (said the man in the orthopaedic shoes).

I think I right in saying the 2008 and earlier ones are not able to be changed but the more recent ones you can.

Any other options to think about?
