Anyone run a boot rack on the Mk V Golf?
Bit of googling suggests that you shouldn't due to the plastic spoiler.
Sis in law just bought a bike and wants a cheap way to transport it. I said wheel off and in the boot, she said where's the dog supposed to go....
I used to on my mk5 to no ill effect 🙂
Nice one, what rack did you use and did you fix the straps over the spoiler?
I recently debated his before going for a Thule. The Saris Bones seems to get recommended a lot, but opinions differ on whether they should be fitted on the spoiler.
I had a Saris Solo on mine (with spoiler).
It seemed to fit okay but left two dents on the boot where the upper feet rest. Whether it was due to over tightening the straps I don't know, nonetheless it was swiftly sold on.
The original VW ones pop up on eBay from time to time, maybe worth a try?
