I've just did the 50 hour Service on the Rock Shox Judys of my new Scott Scale 940, this one: https://www.scott-sports.com/us/en/product/scott-scale-940-black-red-bike?article=274595009

I'm not sure which Model Year the Rock Shox Judys are but I assumed they are 2021. So, according to the Rock Shox Service guide (

) on pages 12 and 84, I should put 10ml of oil in the Spring side. However, if there are 2020 models, it says I should put in 6ml (page 11).

Is there anyway I can tell would exact model year my forks are? If I have put in too much oil, will it really damage my forks?

The spring side will just be "a bit" for lubrication. No harm.

It's just lubrication for the lowers. Split the difference and pop 8ml in? Or fill it up with 10ml and before pumping up the air spring ensure they compress all the way, without ramping up towards the end.

Rock Shox actually have a very useful info page for my fork: https://trailhead.rockshox.com/en/tuning/23T90962023 and looking from the "Docs" link I only see 2019/2020 documentation, so I guess they are 2020 - which means 6ml ๐Ÿ™ but it should be fine ๐Ÿ™‚ ?

According to the spec of your bike your fork is a Rockshox Judy Silver TK Solo Air. In the RS spare parts catalogue this is the 2018-2021 (A1-A3) fork. To get the model number of your fork put your fork serial number in here: https://trailhead.rockshox.com/en/search/ (e.g A2), then go to the service manual, page 14. Look at the air spring top cap of your fork and check against the service manual, the 2018 (A1) fork has a different top cap than the 2019-21 fork so you've either got an A2 or A3 fork. I'm assuming that the A3 is 2021 and the A2 is 2019-2020.

Looking at the Judy on the RS site here: https://www.sram.com/en/rockshox/models/fs-jdys-tk-a2 I reckon you have an A2 model (2019-2020) as the graphics on the legs match the style of those on your bike and are different to those on the A3 (2021). According to the service manual, the 2019-20 forks need 6 ml of oil per leg. Only the 2021 non-Boost Judy TK forks need 10 ml of oil in the spring lower leg, as your fork is a Solo Air Boost the manual says 6 ml.
