Ok so I'm about to order a set of Flow EX's on Pro 2's but Moonglu are shipping with the new hub in a couple of weeks.

Bragging rights aside is there really that much of an improvement in the new hub?

I ride on Fulcrums which are 72 tooth I think. Surely an average joe like myself doesnt need to be overly concerned with points of engagement ?

I'll tell you after this weekend as my hub was recently replaced under warranty and I got the newer version.

I doubt i'll notice much difference apart from the noise it makes mind.

Yeah apparently they are a tad quieter. Not a big fan of the freehub noise so maybe not a bad thing !

interesting, I didn't know this was coming.
one of the things I don't like about my Hope hubs is the lack of engagement points - particularly with low speed manoeuvres. I think it is also is part of the problem that means Hope ally freehub splines get mashed up too easily.
is this a change to the standard hub or is it a more costly option?

Fulcrums are reasonably high engagement hubs (they are made by Campagnolo anyway). If you can't tell the difference between them and current Hope hubs, you probably won't tell the difference between current and new Hope hubs. I doubt the majority of riders can anyway.

Then again: There no major differences between many Alu frames and their carbon counterparts, 9 and 10 speed groups, etc. Progress usually comes in small increments.
