Why bother when you could fit a go-pro adapter to the light?
This http://www.magicshineuk.co.uk/bike-lights/mj-6028-helmet-mount-for-mj-808e.html would do the job equally well I'd imagine. Cheaper versions on ebay too.
I've got one currently in use on a Bell Super R, works fine.
(I bought one as I couldn't find a Go Pro adaptor that didn't end up with the light sitting way too high on the head)

This... I got a link from here for one from china... Whilst I realise that's not a great deal of help, if you find one they work really well...
I printed a load of those last year, it was a ball ache posting themand people complaining about the wrong shade of whatever colour so I gave up
