Why on earth not?
Just normal SKS and Blumels ones. Just buy wide ones. I use the biggest my frame will take as that gives better coverage. Got 38mm knobblies and SKs guards. Can get my finger around the tyre as well. Guess they might be 48mm ish guards

I'm using SKS Chromplastics with 37c Conti Sport Contacts - it's a failry close fit but no issues so far. It is going to depend on what size tyres your frame and fork are designed to accommodate though.

Currently on 35c, but I bought 55mm wide SKS chromoplastics to go round 2.0" Fat Franks. The mudguard stays needed a bit of bending to get them round the caliper and the guard straight on the wheel, but it's pretty easy to get straight and even. Bike's a Singular Peregrine, room to spare.

No clearance under the bridge for any guards on the wife's bike with the 28c's on there!

It is ton, thanks, hardly touched the mountain bike since I built it.

On the mudguard story, the back one looks a bit short, I bought the mudflap to put on it, but then first time I had to stand the bike on the back wheel to hang it up on the train it snagged and I haven't put it back. You might want longer or a long mudflap for winter club runs if that's your thing.
