I dont think GW's the new TJ.

I just think he likes posting on threads about stuff he says he doesn't like but secretly he'd like to try out for himself. 😉

Hes had a couple of shots of my pug... and said hes keen to try and pop the tyres off the rim but told i him its 100 pumps of a Mountain morph pump to inflate to 8 psi 😆

You'd have to go some to pop a Larry of a LM rim at 8 psi.

I recon I could just about do it on a GFS rim with the tyre at 4psi though.
That tyre and rim combo is slacker than the winner of the slackers contest at a singlespeed event. 😆

LM's being bouble walls are quite tight though.

TBH I think most singlewall rims are slacker than tollah's ass.

Stu - What's your problem? They're not really ever going to be my thing but show me where I have said I don't like fat bikes? I'm genuinely puzzled by Al's bizarre seatpost choice.
I've rolled my fair share of DH tyre beads off DH rims at pretty high pressures, a (much lighter) mate rolled a front intense 2.7 DH comp 50(the old heavy ones that weren't far off the size of a 3" Gazza) clean off a D321 at abt 30psi right in front of me on a DH run (corner after the stepdown on Dropzone at inners if you know it) he was v.luck to get away with it un scathed. I'd really like to try and roll a tyre off CKs Pug but I reckon it might need taking somewhere it'd be fairly pointless otherwise.

I'm genuinely puzzled as to why you think it's bizarre ?

I was under the impression he was building it as a beach bike, I'm local to him and don't think I'd want my saddle swaying around 3" riding our local coastline. hopefully he'll confirm why he has chosen to fit it.

I can confirm....

1. Like many things...I don't take the set up of my bikes that seriously.
2. I had the TB on that frame as a 130mm forked hardtail.
3. I don't see how it could be a set back on the trails in question
4. I'm not looking for the last 1% performance on every ride.

GW you are TJ and I claim my £500,000,000,000.

Stop taking things so seriuosly.

These bikes aren't about performance. They're about bringing a big smile to your face just bimbling around on them. 8)

I've arranged to collect an old Nexus 7s hub from a mate FOC...should solve any chainline issues...briefly...before it explodes!

Ahh booh the hub has a coaster brake and you need to freewheel to change gear.

Former can be bodged to disc, latter a PITA, and I would need to bodge a shifter too 🙁

Off for a proper ride later. 18 speed, most of them work, average one question and 27 looks per mile.

£45 off Woody- bit of an oddity though...130mm and not wanting to be cold set!

Well I took her up the Pentlands to try on some steep loose stuff on Allermuir ridge.

Heaps of traction however rider fitness and technique coupled with a howling gale meant I didn't clean the tricky sections. 67 deg seat angle did not help either.

Fun though... I suspect it will fall well short of full fat in snow and sand but I'll give it a go.

How dare you insult my Eunos.

GW fanny for a particular reason or just a generic comment?

These bikes seem worth the effort just for how cartoon-like they look.

And they look like they might float, which is cool.
