I've converted a 90's mtb for commuting with a nexus 3 speed hub on it with v brakes.
It has been used pretty hard for a year and a half, including over the winter. A mixture of rough roads and track.
I realise that this hub is not really designed for this. It still works but is grinding away, I guess it will fail soon.
I really like having 3 gears as I go over a hill.
Should I bite the bullet and go single speed or look for a replacement?
