Got 3 threaded holes on my Cane Creek fork crown, seems they're for a bolt-on mudguard.

Cane Creek don't seem to make one, and if they do, they're hiding it pretty well.

DVO and Manitou look like they have the same set of holes, but guards are sold out on CRC, and I cant' track them down anywhere else.

Anyone know any more about these?

Cheers.

If anyone else cares...

according to a bloke on the internet (reviewer on TFTuned), CC don't make one, and the others don't fit.

Also there are screw holes for mounting a fender to the back of the arch but CC don't make one yet and aftermarket ones don't fit (I tried). CC - if you're reading this please make one ASAP.

I’ve got a guard that came with my DVO sapphires, it rubbed on a Specialized 2.6” tyre and I had a RRP guard already so it’s sat in the cupboard not needed since.

Edit, just noticed Ned’s post, the DVO wouldn’t fit your CC anyway

Ned is the op and we claim our £5.

I emailed cane creek.

They'd planned to make an integrated jobby, hence the threaded holes, but couldn't get the cost down to something reasonable, so it's canned for now. There is/was something on their website that google pings up, but that's for an older zip tie job, not a placeholder for great things to come.

So we should just enjoy the weight savings from the holes and get busy with the zip ties.

Big thumbs up to @timangus for this - I've a helm on my Soda and a friend has one on whatever Sonder he has.

Got a mate with a 3d printer. Magic 🙂

I know this is a bit of a resurrection, but I was just looking for the same thing and found Carbon Wasp are now making a carbon fibre mudguard for the Helm, £50 though!

I'm gonna have a go at printing that one from Thingiverse I reckon.
