I want to change my current 3x9 set up to 1x10, but at the moment can't afford to do it all in 1 hit (clutch mech, cassette, shifter, narrow-wide ring, new cables) so for now am just going to do away with the big ring and run a 2x9 + a double chain device. Not quite sure on the length of chainring bolts I need to get to do ditch the big ring and just bolt the middle back on though. It's an slx crank by the way!
Any help much appreciated cheers
if you're fitting a bash, your standard bolts are good.
If you aren't fitting a bash, you want 'single ring bolts' - I've used teh cheap ebay Onza ones successfully - the RF steel ones are stronger if you're a masher, and still only a couple of quid from CRC. Think I got a bag of five for my slx crank...
Nope, no bash - they'll be spot on cheers mate!
