I need to replace all the chainrings on my SLX Crankset, the bottom bracket is also getting creaky. Noticed a very cheap and very bling FSA Carbon 2x9 crankset on CRC. Has anyone any experience going from 3x9 to 2x9? I don't use the granny ring much so can't see why it would be a killer?

I have recently gone 2x9 and don't really notice any difference without it as I never used the 42t anyway so now I cant use something I didn't use anyway!
Can't comment on the chainset you mention but I think a bike just looks better without a big ring.
