Hi

Looking for a really tight 29er tyre for my slightly undersized Halo rim.

Anybody really struggled with a particular type?

Preferably tubeless ready or ok for tubeless.

Thanks

If they struggled cos their rim was slightly oversized then what they say won't help you much .

Schwalbe Hans Dampf snakeskins are FT on my Pacenti TL28s. Nobby Nic not quite so much but still pretty bloody tight

Which halo rim do you have?

It might be worth picking a tyre you want to use then thickening the fluid with glitter.

Not worth getting a crap tyre because it fits the rim well.

Thanks for replies

Fair enough - I suspect there are folk that have tried a few different tyres on the same rim

Halo freedom disc. The issue is that it just pops off the rim when inflated. I have solved it by running ghetto tubeless with inner tube but would like to try with stans tape this time. I think a tight tyre might be ok.

I have a pair of them,

I've got nobby nic's on at the mo, and some bontys for summer. Never had problems with them.

I got the rim when they very first came out so maybe that's the issue and they've sorted it.

Come to think of it the tightest tyre I ever tried was a Halo one I got cheap.

Bontrager mud won't stay on from new. Bontrager jones acx neither.

Not keen on schwalbe so haven't tried them

Geax sounds interesting

Anyone have a view on specialized 29er as captain would be my first choice? Moved over to Specialized on all of my other wheels (all 26er) but never found them super tight.
