I know the 3 peaks has a drop bar only, no mtbs allowed policy which I totally respect, but is it possible to enter a drop bar 29er with rigid carbon forks and cross tyres? Or does one need a bona fide cross frame? I fancy having a go at the event at some point, possibly next year. Obviously if necessary I would have to force myself to get another bike, but just wondering if anyone has any experience of anything similar.

Has to be a cross bike .Mtb frames are not allowed
