Hello all

Looking at new cranks for full-sus 29er frame set I have just ordered.

This will be my first 29er, currently run a singlespeed and a superlight 26 1x10

So i'm thinking what route do I go as its a 29er and it will have an effect on the gearing etc.

1) XT Double 24/38 but seem to me you would be changing gear loads, 24 too small 38 too big

2) XT triple and change big ring to a bash, run mainly in the 32 and and inner if needed for long climbs

3) Try and stay 1x10 32T 11-36 cassette as I am now on the 26

would be interest to hear any feedback from anyone who has been through this process

Its very flat round here where I ride but I do go off to wales for weekends etc.

many thanks to all in advance

I run 24/38 on both my 29'ers with 11-36t cassettes out back.

I find it bang on for racing XC and marathons, general XC & Trail riding and all dayers.

At the moment the HT one is set up single speed with 34:20, but it may well be going 1x10 with 34t up front and 11-36t out back, just for something different

Do you find your changing gear at the front much?
