Not intended to turn into another mud tyre debate. But what cheap (as it will only get used once) 29er narrow mud tyres are people taking to Mayhem. Something like a black shark.

Thanks

Has anyone tried the Geax Gato in 29"? In the wire bead I have seen them for under £20. Having said that, that was in 29x2.3 so still looking for a thinner version. Have read good things about them though and st that price if I never use them again wouldnt matter.

Anyone used them?

I sometimes work next door and live down the road, mud x is best round these parts. Copes with glop at the bottoms and don't slow you on the limestone tracks/top fields.

I've used beavers in 29" to good effect but at last years mayhem they still couldn't cope. I've got Gato's in 1.9 on my 26" and they are just as good. If mayhem turns out the same way this year I had more success running CX tyres on the 29er. 🙂
