Lads, any alternatives to this http://www.wiggle.com/k-edge-adjustable-stem-mount-for-garmin-edge-forerunner/ cannot bring myself to paying 27 quid! sure the thing costs about 50p to make?
superstar were doing ally ones for a tenner
The SRAM Quickview is about 1/2 that price.
Physical raw material per unit production cost is totally different to lifecycle cost that has to cover design, R&D, test, tooling, materials, despatch, sales, manpower etc.
But above all that, price is market driven. If the market will sustain a £27 piece of plastic, why shouldn't it?
27 quid for a small bit of plastic?
But it's aluminium 🙂
It's actually metal, with a plastic insert where the Garmin attaches.

Works perfectly. £13.50
And doesn't sit above the stem, which is why I guess the interest in the K Edge one 😉
if you fit the SRAM one backwards it will sit above the stem 😉
Yes, if you run a 120mm stem....
With a 60mm stem the SRAM one (backwards) puts the mount pretty much on top of the stem cap. So it will sit a bit further back than it would with either of the other options suggested.
SRAM is cheaper, but the K-Edge CNC mounts are jewelry for your bike.
(I have both, and the SRAM is ugly).
You can't see either when the garmins clipped in. 🙂
Bionicon chain guides are about £30 and they're basically a little bit of plastic/alloy.
They do the job though, so people buy them.
Wish I'd invented it.
A bit more expensive but look good not sure what delivery time would be like though. http://www.promountbillet.com/#!product/prd1/1281641101/pmb-enduro-garmin%C2%A9-mount
