[#7930327]

After last nights front wheel pringling incident I'm after a replacement set (rear's not in the best of shape either). Currently have 819's on Pro2's. Requirements; need to be UST or what ever tubeless is called these days, QR rear hub and a 20mm through axle for the front (V old Pikes!).

Any suggestion welcomed as to what and where from?
Thanks.

I got recommended these by Tracey on here and they're superb!

Hope/stans combo?
Or just buy a rim. And build onto the pro 2

I'm looking for a set too but QR. Could probably get away with rear only.

if your hubs are still in good shape take them to your LBS and ask them to build them back into new wheels with new rims/spokes and nips! least that what I would do. Why have an entire net set of wheels?

Paul, Merlin do QR adaptors for the front as well

Thanks all.
The Pro-Build's look like a good stop-gap (had pro-build stuff before and been happy) until I rebuild onto the Pro2's.

Why have an entire net set of wheels?

'cause I've run out of spare sets now 🙁

I've got a 26" 20mm front wheel in the garage you can have.

I'd be glad of the space

Superstar will build you a set in pretty much any configuration you fancy for not much money from a selection of different rims. Their Fuel hubs are supposed to be good (rebranded Mavic hubs I’m told) but they’re untested in my book – their Switch hubs have been around for years now and have been refined and refined into a very reliable, serviceable hub.

Just want to say thanks again to pickle for the heads-up.
Quick spin out today and all seems good.
They appear to be a great budget choice and will give me a breather to rebuild the Pro2's onto new rims. I've had Raleigh Pro Build wheelset in the past - 317's on Hope XC's from Halfords of all places - and they lasted a good while. The Alex rims, I've got on my Trek road bike and they've been OK. The only question mark will be the hubs, a bit of bumble bee buzz rather than the Hope clikity. A bell perhaps.

So next question will be a recommendation for rims and a spoke calculator.

If you are going alloy my choice would be Wtb i35s for rims with DT Swiss comp spokes. I would run the Pro build ones for a while as you may well be supprised by the durability.

Thanks for the tip but I cannot find the adaptors. Any chance you could link to it?

spence - if you're at all interested in second hand I've potentially got some good condition Pro 2 Evos (20mm front and QR rear) on Arch EX rims set up with Stans tape and valves that have performed flawlessly. Drop me a line if they might be of use. Cheers.

Spence, if you are interested I have a pair of 26" flow rims I am looking to sell. They are white but un-used. I'd do the pair for £40 + postage.

I have a mint pair of Mavic Crossmax SX that fit the bill.
Let me know if you're interested and I'll email you some pics.
