Thinking that a 26" wheel rigid mid-fat bike might be my ideal winter mtb.

Anyone built one? Looks like a 1x1 might suit as can take up to 2.8, although I'd want some (hub?) gears.

just building a 'tubby' 1x1 up right now. Should be done by the end of the week.
Hope hubs with Marge Lite rims, Maxxis Minion 2.5's...might try it with a suspension fork too ๐Ÿ™‚

only trouble up to now has been getting the rims to clear the v-brake bosses on the Surly fork.

new 2.75" Knard tyres look interesting too.

You can get a 3"gazzaloddi or duro leopard on a marge lite in a 1x1 frame with minor mods...I got one in the back of a chumba hx2 with a fat front last year for a 3/4 fatty..ace laugh

3'' Nokian on 47mm trials rim.

Goes nicely in a 29er fork .....

Meant as a semi/half fat experiment but now thinking mimicking the new Instigator .....
