Ah,I should have looked closer.I got a bit blinded seeing the MTB frame.
It got me wondering about doing something similar with my old hardtail

Yes and I'm racing it today. Mine is a singlespeed - technically now a doublespeed with manual gear change, hydraulic brakes and a 700c carbon fork.

Looks only a mother could love, but 3" of mud clearance and tubeless mean it will finish every race!

Tyres are a BIG issue. I could only find Schwalbe CX Pros with wire beads. They've been good in the two muddy races I've done so far but would be poor in the dry. They mounted tubeless to my crests fine though and I can run them at 20psi.

Here it is:

Original set up - SS HT with CX tyres (note the tape on the drivetrain)

And with the carbon fork from here:

Very interesting Tired. Agreed on the looks but liking the idea for winter ridding mixing on and off road

Which width did you go for? Any link to ones you bought

I think the cx pro only comes in 1.3 ish size in 26", and only with wire bead. They are my emergency boggy-race tyre and I raced cross once with them on a ss hardtail, they were pretty good even on the hard packed bits.

[edit] here they are, 1.35" and £26 delivered for a pair.

Those are the ones, running tubeless on crests. Fine for all except nationals. And I won't be riding those!
