I've found the Straitline shims for fitting 25.4mm bars into an oversize stem. The description says for Straitline stems, is there any reason I can't use them for other stem/bar combinations?
Probably not , at a guess the shims fit the Straitline stems flush and look a bit prettier.
Should be o.k. as long as your stem face-plate and neck has straight edges so it fits snug with the flanges on the shims. Wouldn't do it if stem has a curved face-plate / neck.
Are there any other options out there? I'd be looking to fit 25.4 Raceface Deus bars to a Thomson Elite x4 stem until I need new bars.
i use easton ea30's with shims as they dont make a 25 used for the last year and been fine.
So could I use these shims with a Thomson Elite x4?
you would have to check the shape against the thompston stem as they are same shape as easton stems will try and get a pic for u tomorow also i think dmr do some aswell
