[Closed] 20mm axle on 15mm hub - DT Swiss

Fox did a 20mm to 15mm thing for some of the later 36's which might help

I have a 27.5 20mm stans flowex on dt swiss 350 hub going if you fancy it.

Remove the wheel and the end spacers. If the internal diameter of the bearings is 20mm, then it is likely that alternative end spacers for a 20mm axle are available (surely?).

ETA In which case maybe get someone to machine out the middle of your spacers?

Page 64 has a front wheel compatibility / conversion chart. It doesn't look like a lot can be converted up to 20mm.

Yeah, a lot of DT wheels are 15mm only. I think the M1900 has actually gone through some revisions lately but the compatability table for the current spline model says no 20mm.

Which Fox is it? Some are adaptable for 20mm and 15mm, my 36s frinstance can do either. The 15mm option is heavier but it works fine.

nope. 240-OS can, but most trail factory wheelsets are 15mm only. There is an EX and a E1700/1900 wheelset that 20mm, but they use a different hub to all other Xm/EX/E/M spline wheelsets.
2015 on Fox 36 can do 15 or 20 IF its a 180mm platform.
160mm platform 36's are 15mm only.

I went through this for ages with my e1700 delivery dates came and went, ended up sticking a pro 2 front hub on.

Not quite so simple, the 2015 29ers are convertible too (source: too cheap to own 2017 36s)

I may have a solution, my friend has some newer Fox 34 with 15mm he is willing to trade me as he wants to go for 36's anyway. I know the 36 is a more expensive fork but his is better condition, newer and will save me having to faff around changing hubs.

Personally I'd rather keep the nice stiff 36 and sort the axle or hub.
