Battery for the motor was flat

It seemed to be a fairly well planned change, I reckon he had one of those cobbled classics Pinarellos with the rear suspension elastomer and he's now swapped it to his regular Dogma.
He certainly didn't seem panicked by it.

Those colour change Specializeds look nice.

Fed up with the BBC, my freeview box is less than a year old and now the red button doesn't work as its old tech. 🙄

Lack of on-screen gap time is annoying. They should have hired ASO's broadcast team.

It's because of the stupid decision not to allow radios: You either allow them for all pro events, or none.

Why?

Should just be on a channel. Something high like 302 or 601

A lot of riders are on their regular team bikes - G & CF are on their Pinarellos, Steve Cummings is on Cervelo for example so it's not necessarily a nationality thing.
The Spesh bikes are bright yellow cos it's warmer than 22C. They're orange below that temperature. Certainly a few of the Belgians are riding them.

why didn't they put S-Works on the down tube? 😡

noticed the new contador replica on the Sigma site too, any one know if these are coming in other sizes?

Olympic branding rules.
You're only allowed one logo so to have both Specialized and S-Works would contravene that.

Honestly, you wouldn't believe the pages and pages of shite that gets into the brand guidelines.

I was working on anti-doping at the 2012 Games - thankfully we were a bit more low-key than regular Games Makers but the brand guidelines we had to adhere to when on site were insane.

"Big bang at the finish line" apparently. Hopefully nothing serious.

Admiring Chris Boardman's patience with the other commentator who keeps interrupting him...

Indeed. Youview box here, £50 on ebay - HD twin tuner Freeview recorder for old tech (which TBH is still preferable if you remember to record something as you can skip the ads), all the apps for multi channel modern viewing.

So what was up with the package, I heard them talking about something on the radio when I was out, but couldn't find any cycling commentary?

Still no idea how it's going to pan out.

The only thing I'd put money on is nibali having a dig in a bit.

It really isn't Richie Porte's year is it. Poor guy, he looks in all sorts of pain there. 🙁

It's a good race this, genuinely quite exciting to watch. A vast improvement on the yawn-fest that was the 2012 event.

Nice work from Nibali on that descent.

An exciting course, not designed to end in a bunch sprint for one rider.

Final climb so I assume this is where Froome will make his move?

50 sec gap to make up and he'd be chasing down two team-mates. I think this will be left to G and Yates now. He'd be better off saving himself for the TT.

Great race, I was gonna dip in and out while doing chores - but I've been riveted to it.

I think Froome has given up. If he was going to go for the win, he wouldn't let some one like Nibbles get that far ahead with less than 30kms to go

This could yet come back together.
Yates looks to have dropped off the back of that lead group.

This looks like the break, if there's gonna be one that stays away.

They'll need to lose GVA though

Yates has found a second wind to help Froome a little bit, wonder how long he can hold that.
