No Giro thread yet? See we have a fantasy Giro thread but no chit chat thread.

Anyway, as usual, good Giro guide and a who will win piece over at inrng. He does daily previews too.

Stage 1 win and pink as expected goes to Dumoulin, though only by 0.01 of a second. Nibali the best of the GC contenders.

Who is Primoz Roglic anyway?

I'm just a bit gutted that we don't get the hour long giro highlights on itv4 ๐Ÿ˜ฅ
oh well, I'm sort of passively following for the first few flat days in Holland, maybe we'll see some side winds catching out gc contenders? But looking at the forecast I doubt it. I'd love to see Chaves smash a stage or two in the mountains

Roglic is a Slovinian former ski jumper and this was his Grand Tour debut and there was only 30cm in it. Impressive is what that was.

A win and pink for Kittel today seems pretty inevitable. Could be an interesting stage if Giant Alpecin try and mix things up to prevent a big sprint finish. Even then Kittel could pick up an intermediate sprint bonus and get pink.

I watched stage 2 while cooking and cleaning yesterday, please tell me it's get more exciting. Even the sprint was dull.

Stages 6,10,13,14,19 and 20 look brutal those should be fun to watch also stage 15 is a 10km ITT at an average of 8.3% maxing out at 11%! I mean to say there'll be some boring sprinters stages but around that there'll be plenty fun.

The 4 Days of Dunkirk was much more interesting yesterday.

Could be an interesting one tomorrow. Short steep climb just 7km from the finish. Kittel dropped and Dumoulin back in pink?

Some nice scenery today.

Just watched Flecha ride the last climb, can't see Kittel being there for the sprint.

Should be a good one today...

A big climb and some gravel roads to shake things up. Expect to see the riders swap their race bikes for adventure bikes ๐Ÿ˜‰

That's such an unsatisfying end to what was shaping up really nicely.
