Can any one advise if the above bike is a good bike for £400? I have recently taken up cycling in the last 6 months.

Depends on what you want to do with it, but it is definitely "Entry level" kit - have poke round the For Sale forum on here and Pinkbike.com - 3-4yo gear at your budget will still be streets ahead of that. try to make sure you buy from someone with a decent level of posting history. Could you get away with an 18" frame?

If you're buying cash check out Pauls Cycles, they're often on sale there for last years model or earlier
