Hi

I've an old Voodoo Bizango - black and yellow one from 2013.

I'm using it as a project to educate myself on bike maintenance and my next job was going to be buy a new rear derailleur because I just can't get the gears right and it's the original so I thought why not.

But, one thing I've noticed is the derailleur hanger is at an angle as you can see here -

I was thinking it's the hanger and was having a look round for one (annoyingly they seem to be bespoke) but I just took the hanger off and it seems to be straight. Well it lies flat to a surface as you can see here -

At this point I'm not sure what to do next. I was wondering if anyone had the same bike if they could have a look at theirs, but it's old so I'm not sure what the chance of someone having one is!

Any advice would be really helpful as I'm a bit stuck on what to do.

Thanks

Could be a bent derailleur ?

It's the gap between the hanger and the cassette - if you look closely the hanger is at an angle to the cassette.

Are you sure the wheel is sitting correctly in the drop outs ? Looks like the wheel may not be fully in the dropouts.

From memory this has sliding dropouts. Are they set the same both sides? If not that would account for the wheel/axel not running at 90° to the frame.

Here’s a pic of my 2014.
As above set both dropouts equally and ensure wheel is in dropouts correctly.
