The vid I saw on Pinkbike, they guy just used the yellow tape and a valve with a small circular rubber bit, not a full rim strip. Before I get the pair, just checking it will work with these wheels as the standard Stans kit seems to come with the yellow tape and a full rim strip attached to the valve.
I just did mates with the rubber rim strip. It still took 2 wraps on yellow Stans tape to get them to seal with proper bontrager tubeless ready tyres.
Personally I'd go down that route if I were you
Did you leave the existing rim strip in? And how did you pump them up -co2 cart or track pump?
Left the existing strip in, just used a track pump
They weren't brand new tyres, so that may've played a part, but I'd defo go with the rubber rim strips.
