[#3983572]

I have just received one from CRC to replace a damaged 2011 xt one, its a different design but that's ok by me, my question is when I squeeze the lever there seems to be an end of a spring poking out from underneath the lever, it has a hook on the end so I'm assuming it should be fixed to something? lever feels ok to use but I'm not fitting it and will probably return it this afternoon.
Can anyone confirm that no springs ends are visible when lever is depressed please?
cant do pics but will try!!

My daughters Deores are exactly the same with the spring end sticking out. I thought it was odd but it appears captive so I think its part of the design!

cheers, it looks really strange! in function it slows the lever down as you let go of it i guess it stops it clanging against the reservoir body.

Also means the levers can go back past their start point to avoid snapping them (I think)

Yep, that is perfectly normal and should be like that.

Thanks for your replies, I find it strange that money is poured into the aesthetics of the lever then they hang a spring out of it...everytime i squeeze the lever my OCD will itch!!

Cant even see it when you're riding... Why would it bother you?

Didn't even notice it on my SLX till you mentioned it.
