Im off to drop some wedge on a new set of brakes today.. Anyone running these brakes care to share their experiences of them. To date ive only heard really good things.. Should i be going all in and copping the icetech rotors too or is it wasted money?

I bought some xtr ice tech off classifieds, they were brand new. fitted them with some Magura Marta Sl and they were really good. Afew months later, Due to new wheels (not splined), had to fit the original magura wavey rotors and the drop in performance was very noticeable, also the brakes now squeal in wet, didn't do that with the ice tech rotors. So, they is very good IMO.

just on a side note.. MERLIN CYCLES have sold me brakes without the advertised ice tech pads. my man in the know has informes me that somewhere along the line somebody has removed the proper pads and installed cheaper ones.

merlin were completely uninterested and told me i could buy some off them if i want.

utterly useless robbing Sh1t heads.

I just fitted a set of XTs to my bike this weekend. They are by far the best brakes I've ever used (and I've had a LOT of different brakes in my time)

I believe the SLX ones are basically the same as the XTs but without so much bling or the "freestroke" adjuster... which I could live without in truth.

I don;t even have the ice-tech rotors (went for the poverty spec XTR ones that look the same) but the brakes are beyond epic. I'm actually going to get a smaller rotor for my front brake is it is almost too powerful. Never thought I'd find myself saying that...
