Can anyone help me with this please?

I know they can be set to 120,130 or 140mm with a clip I think.

I've tried looking on the minefield sram site with no luck so if anyone can advise or post a link that would be great ta.

I've not worked on any forks before so is it easy for a tech numpty to do?

Thanks.

There's a whole lot of manuals here:

https://www.sram.com/service/rockshox/7%2C107

I think you need this one:

I have the same forks but haven't changed the travel. I think you need to change the air shaft on that model.

There were a lot of variants around at that time. You need to know exactly which ones you have. Recently fettled the wife's dual air RLT and that was travel adjusted via shaft spacers.

Easy enough to do if you can visualise what slides past what inside a fork as it goes through the travel. If you can't think in pictures like that, it might be tricky.

Thanks chaps, I'll delve through the service guides again. That 2nd link hols is for the 2013 with you did need to change the air shaft.

Think you may be right onza, I remember you need to swap something around to change the height.

I'll keep looking 🙂

Reasonably, the deeper you go inside the more specialist tools you need but other than designing new shim stacks its not rocket science.  I can read manuals until I go blind but nothing really compares to taking them apart for me to make sense of them.

TBH the hardest part seems to be finding the definitive manuals based on model changes and corresponding parts/fluid.   I just changed an airshaft on my Pike's and J-tech assured me the 2018 one with the separate model number is exactly the same as the 2014-2018.... I'd originally ordered elsewhere and got out of stock problems but in the end I paid slightly more from J-Tech but they arrived next dayish and with the assurance the airshaft was exactly the same,

Based on that I'd say try and order through TFT, Jtech etc. half the battle for me is knowing you got the right part.

Is the fork solo or dual air (i.e. is there a second air valve at the bottom of the spring leg). Dual airs are adjusted by spacers, solo air is a shaft change. Both are relatively straight forward as long as you're reasonably competent with a set of Allen keys.

My 2012 rev solo air were adjusted via a knob on the top of the fork leg, they were 150/120 with nothing in between.

The older dual air models had variants especially in oem guise and you cant always rely on them being adjustable travel.

What travel are they now? Reducing shouldn't be an issue, you just need the correct spacer. Its a fairly straightforward job, id get confident with a lowers drop and lube first possibly before attacking the uppers.

Check they actually are 2012 forks from the serial number, then just follow the service manual for the strip down and rebuild, adding the spacers required, or removing. It should all become fairly obvious once you get the guts out and see the tech diagrams. Model year is important for the oil volume in damper side.

One thing to bear in mind is that if its your first go and you normally would get a shop to do them make sure you have all the tools and kit required first. Circlip pliers, 24mm shallow lip socket, long reach 10mm socket if they are 15mm axles, 15mm socket, long dowel and rag for cleaning, fluids for lowers and damper, suspension grease.

Search youtube for SRAM TECH and follow the guides, there is one for dropping the lowers and another for the damper and for the air spring.
