Hi there,
I have a Specialized Stumpy EVO 2012 with revelation RL's on the front, i rode revelation XX (2010) on my last bike and notice the RL's really aren't as good as my previous XX's.
I think I can just replace the standard moco unit with the RCT3 moco unit - Any benefits of this? Will this give me the more plush, better small bump without blowing through the travel i was used to on the XX's??
Many Thanks in advance.
Mike
Apparently the RCT3 dampner is better than the XX
Better off talking to Loco
RCT3/Blackbox have dual flow rebound as well i think?
After speaking to LoCo - I've now ordered a RCT3 damper to replace the standard DNA moco.
Id still be interested to know if anyone out there has any experience with the two and their opinions.
Loco should know if those forks have a dual flow rebound setup. I'm sure the RL would have this, unless it's some funny OEM model. So with the RCT3 damper they'll be identical to 'proper' RCT3 Revs (I.e. really nice).
I've got RCT3s and they're great. I've not spent much time on RLs to compare, though.
"RCT3/Blackbox have dual flow rebound as well i think?"
As above, Im sure it should still have dual-flow rebound in, or at least the Rockshox site said so for 2011 models? I cant see them taking it off again for 2012. Else unless its a funny OEM model?
Well mine is a OEM RL from specialized. Where it would usually have the XX/Blackbox/DNA moco sticker on the right of the crown there is nothing, in typical Specialized fashion, it's probably custom in some way, even if its just the decals.
Superficial - how do you run yours?
I have some RCT3's and just run them full open but have heard that they can be better at half open and minimal LSC.
Havent had a huge amount time to mess about with them but they are great
Setup tips are always welcome! ๐
110 psi in +VE 100 in -VE, full open, low speed 9 clicks from full off, and rebound 3 clicks from full slow.
The forks are reduced to 130 mm on a hardtail and I'm 90kg (and falling, (slowly ๐ฟ ) )
I've been running them fully open with a good amount of LSC (about 4 clicks back from full). It's not very easy to appreciate the LSC in car park testing but they seem to hold up in the travel a bit better on repeated hits which is nice. I've not tried them much in threshold mode, although I can imagine your suggestion would work well for a sort of 'platform' for out-of-seat pedalling.
I started a topic when I first got mine - not too much info around on these though.
