Just seen the latest 2011 Giant full suspension mtb bikes and noticed the spec is lower grading than 2010 models aswell 10%~20% price increase on them, I cant help thinking that 2010 models are looking better on both spec and colour scheme than 2011 models, imo the 2010 Anthem X2 is the best looking and handling bike which I test ride a few months back (see bottom pic) it weigh 25lbs! I think the colour cables on 2011 models is an eyesore, here the latest pics, does these float your boat?

2010 bikes are looking very good value compared to 2011 pricing. I've still got a Trance X4 and X3 in stock too 😉
I've not seen them in the flesh yet, but the 2011s look a bit fussy to me - too much colour detailing going on. As opposed to that 2010 Anthem X2 which is a beaut!

Agreed, the 2010 Anthem X2 is a stunner. Be aware that many people on here will not like because it's so mainstream. The 2010 bikes are looking great value.

As a 2009 Trance X owner, I'm finding the 2011 curved down tube, straight top tube a little odd. It seems a backward step. The 2010 Anthem X looks good, the 2010 Trance X looks good, but to try and combine the two just doesn't work......

I own a 09 Trance X and I have to admit that after a year I still think it looks a little odd! It was probably the best bike I could have got at the time though on the cycle to work scheme and I love it so I'm not complaining. I really like the look of these new ones with the straight top tube though.

Any excuse to invoke vomiting:

The downtube has that "belly" shape to accommodate the shock without compromising the Maestro performance. Earlier versions were straight with gaping hole through it. My belly is covered with dents and chips from flying debris, but the metal seems quite thick there.

They look good in black buzz. Is that the X3? Mines the X5 and I've blinged it up a bit so it's looks better now than when I got it. I think they're quite niche lol. Not seen any others on the trails yet, everyone seems to be riding Orange 5's.

2008 X2 - 2 tone black anodised - it's lovely.

Not just me then.

Oh and that X2 with those red cables is vile.

Yeah the coloured cables are a bit sicky. I'd be changing them for black at the earliest opportunity. I think Giant's graphics team need to start looking at brands like Charge. The big blocky GIANT and the go faster stripes are not cool which is a shame because the bikes ride really good. And I think they have gone back to paint which I don't like - being all anodised was a key selling point for me.

I think that everyone who's had a TranceX agrees that while the F-series is a great lightweight XC fork, it makes the bikes front-light and flexy compared with 5" Maestro back end. A 140mm Maxle Revelation or a Float would be much better with roughly a 300g weight penalty. Also they leave the steerer very long and add loads of spacer so you end up cutting that down.

2011 X2 - what a shame that they make the best spec' / price bike look like a throwback to the 1980's. Wouldn't look out of place on Ashes to Ashes !

Just visited my local Giant concept store in Bradley Stoke this morning and they have 20% discount on their remaining 2010 Trance and Anthem bikes in small, medium and large sizes.

ANTHEM X1 £2200
ANTHEM X2 £1600
ANTHEM X4 £1120

TRANCE X1 £2120
TRANCE X2 £1600
TRANCE X3 £1280

You will get more for spec and money on the 2010 bikes than 2011 bikes and they are selling fast at the moment.
