If anyone is interested

First outing Sat - 2 hour local loop.

Setup - Race Hardtail (Maxlight XCPro3) Forks dropped to 100mm

Previous setup: Fox 2007 OEM Float RL 120's on 100mm

Both rebound dampers set 4-5 clicks from min dampening.

First thoughts:

Weight - same steerer length - 1.45Kg F120's and 1.8Kg RL 120's

Very "plush" out the box. The Kashima coating does seem to be smoother (nail scratch test) and the forks on the same sag (30mm) def have less stiction on compression.

Out riding compared with my old 07' Floats (sorry I am not a fork techy I am afraid) they have a much better response to small and big fast hits. Trail rumble is almost absent and big sudden rock hits are handled better as my old 07' Floats sometimes jerked my shoulders back sharply.

Lockout lever quite big, RHS bar. Easy to fit and push lever down to on and there is a side finger bash lever for off (when I will and often forget to unlock down a descent ๐Ÿ™‚ )

Overall - I am very pleased. They are noticabley different from my 4 year old Floats and tis nice having the lockout for the climbs/fast trails.

BTW they are still saying in the booklet 15 hours seal service ๐Ÿ˜ฏ

What air pressure are you running ? Prob feel even better if you run the rebound slower
