Having now decided to build a grown up bike (29er) i started to check the classifieds on here for parts,,

and suddenly there seems to be an increasing amount of WTD ads for 29er parts,,

so is 2010 going to be the year of the 29er ,,

Nothing I didn't predict 3 years ago. Everyone is now curious for some man-size bigness in their lives.

Having just built up Duggie's old frame I say yes!

Highlight was cracking open a beer on the Surly tuggnut, long live tall arses!

Too late!
2009 was the 29 year.
Notice: 9 & 9? And the 2?
I bought mine 15 months ago and have never looked back.

2010 - S010
Yep, 2010 is the year we try solo racing.

Ade: get with the program; please! 😉

Eventualy 29ers will slide into mainstream.

Just as front suspension did.

Just the same as full suspension did.

Just the same as disc brakes did.

People are scared of change and it takes them a while to get used of the way things look.

Actually - I could care less if not one more got made or sold. I have my bikes, they are great and that'll do for me. There are so many flat-earthers who ride bikes change is measured on the geological timescale, so it'll be evolution, not revolution.

What like SSEC 2010 for example?

It would be a good idea but I have no idea who might be involved in organising it. 8)

Am I on the wrong forum with this thread?
It's degrading in such a manner & style that it's resembling a BM thread! Now that's not progress.

For those who have yet to witness 29ers, perhaps you're not entering the major events such as MM, SS, there were dozens of them at the Montane 100, Bonty 24, etc etc plus the club race series dotted around the South for sure.

I'm 5:10:5. On-One make 16-18-20-22 inch frames. Mine's an 18 and fits well, so the idea that you need to be a giant is yet more smoke 'n' mirrors from the BM no-sayers.
