Looking at a 2010 Stumpjumper FSR Expert 2010 model which can still get at £1600... im sold on the fork, but am wondering about the brain for the rear... having not ridden one with a brain does it work? I mean, I assume that even if you hit one good big root or step then it lets the travel happen?? or if you even hit a small drop from a smooth track run up then the weight of the landing quickly activates the brain??
Just not sure, cos could go for an Elite instead with the Triad shock with its pro-pedal.
Also, how much weight does the Expert's shock/brain setup add?? Is it still a lighter bike than the Elite? (in fact weights on the specialized bikes seem hard to dig up on the net!)
Not really into paying this years prices so if £1600 is a limit and want a 130ish travel bike, is there anything else out there that Im missing?
Have had a Trek Ex9 2007 and a Pace RC405 with a Talas before if that helpes with any comparisons?
