If so what do you reckon of them? Got a 2007 reign with float 36 at the moment and the new reign x looks lighter with a lower bb and from the threads on mtbr seems to pedal just as good uphill. Seems like it could be a good replacement (even though it has got .7" more travel)

I went from the 06 Reign 2 to the 2009 Reign X0. It feels like the bike I was used too, only way, way better. It almost runs on autopilot and climbs surprisingly well. The amount of weight lost off the 2010 can only be a bonus and make for more fun.

Just buy it! You know you want to!

oh yeah, I want to buy it :D. I'm seeing these fully built up at 31 - 32 lbs, trying to think of a reason not to get one, would be my only bike normally ride terrain similar to brechfa, climachx etc, I never seem to do a longer than 20 miles, I'm not much of a climber, I just sit and spin, much prefer the technical single track, drops etc. Just may be able to get a 2010 reign frame fairly cheap but trying to decide if I could live with the reign x everyday, however like I said, its going to be lighter and a lower BB than my current bike but would have to sell my DB alpine to help fund it (the only downside at the moment). My other choice would be a nomad or tracer but the reign X is way cheaper.

Less than 29lbs, is that a small frame at that weight?

It's not my bike so I've no obligation to justify, however it does say that weight on the scales as linked in the pics and the attention to detail from rotors to stem, to SIXC bars is pretty obsessive.

Not the same bike but my '08 Reign 0 is 28.7lbs so with more expenditure an X could be light.

My scales must be hopeless as my trance X is heavier with similar levels of componetry

Mine was weighed at a LBS on a Park Tools digital scale who didn't sell me the bike so no motive to under read it.

To be fair from standard mine now has XTR all round, CF bars, Thompson stem and post, Fulcrum RM3's and tubeless....

So only really the frame is standard ๐Ÿ˜€

Perhaps GWT, pic of scales here:

He's using Formula MY10 brakes, 270g pedals, 231g rotors all in, 49g bash, 226g bars, 132g stem etc. it's all weightweenie-esque stuff, I personally don't doubt the build.
