hi
seen some nos Reba team forks for sale for £200. they are a straight 1.1/8 steerer and 9mm qr - both of which although 'so 2009' are +vs for my current project (have a 2nd hand sanderson life frame, some standard qr dt swiss wheels and a 1x9 slx drivechain to build a nifty playful xc from). I'm a little put off by dual air as I understand it can be a mission to set them correctly - but I'm told they are a decent fork and the price seems an absolute bargain. any views would be appreciated. cheers

Seems a bit dear to me actually but they are good fork IMO.

Dual air is fine if you can use a shock pump btw. I'm on 2010 dual air revelations. Love them. Had dual air Reba's and got on fine with them.

Go for it. I have the bolt through version and it's ace.

The team model is much easier to set up than the motion control ones. If it has the black box damping.

I have some 2008 dual air rebas and really like them. Dual air makes them so versatile. Takes a few rides to get the pressures right for your style of riding but after that they're great.

Might be my imagination but my 2010 teams feel much more comfortable on the rough stuff than my 2012 RLs. Ridden on the same bike in exactly the same guise.

I'd happily pay £200 for n.o.s on the teams

Yep a bit on the steep side but if they are in good condition then why not? worse ways to spend your cash.

I've always been a fan of the dual air system. never understood why people had so much problem with them?

Thanks everyone for the responses. The price is for a new but old stock fork and am pretty sure I am going to buy it. Will be miles better than any other fork I've ever owned. Thanks again. Kev

do they suffer from the Dual Air problems that the Rev's did with air migration and a very strict inflation procedure?

Whats the very strict inflation procedure?

My 2010 Revs seem fine if do the following:

check +ve chamber air pressure and pump up if needed,
check -ve chamber air pressure and pump up to match +ve if needed,
check sag is correct,
add 5psi more to -vce chamber,
go ride.

I found my old Reba and Revelation dual airs a pleasure to setup, the versatility you get from the two air chambers is great.

I found that the damping, once set, was a plenty good enough for anything chucked at them. Then you could play with +/- 10 psi in the negative pressure to adjust the fork to suit conditions/preference.
