A long shot bus does anyone know if there was any weight difference or geometry difference between the 2007 and 2008 prophet frame? I have read it was lighter but was that just due components? Is the SL lighter or is that just due to parts too?

The no difference between when the Std Prophet frame was release in 2005 to when it was stopped in 2009(?).
The only difference between the Std prophet and the SL is the shock length.
Shock lengths:
200mm x50 on std
190mmx 45 on SL
So you can convert an SL into a Std prophet by changing the shock vice versa - this can be a cheap way of aquiring a prophet as the SL aren't as popular.

So yes any weight loss is down to components.

The only ones that may weigh more are the Prophet 4x, MX or X version that came with more bracing by the top tube for longer forks (warrened to run 160mm unlike the std which was onyl warrenteed for 140mm) & bolt thru rear ends on the 4X and MX versions.

I have my large prophet frame, in bits currently due to a knacker BB thread, weighs 6.1 Lbs (2.8Kg's)with shock but no headset.

A 2006, I bought it 2nd hand in April 2009 & it is without doubt my favorite bike.
It's only currently laid up as I'm too skint to afford the BB helicoil (I suspect the previous owner or mechanic messed it up...)

Not the best picture, but you get the idea.
Fitted with 140mm U-Turn Rev Team's & Rp23 (replaced the std manitpoo)

hey the large MX I would love went for £200ish too... they normally reach 300-400, don't talk to me about being distraught!

I picked up a bargain off ebay a couple of months ago and have been riding it a fair bit recently, amazing bike! Might not be pretty or as cool as other brands but they're such fun!
