What should I Fit instead?
I bought a FOX RP 2 but the bushings are too wide and don't appear to be changeable so its going back. (I thought they were all the same)
Budget is £140 from CRC if possible.
Thanks yall
Do you mean the eyelet bushes or the external ones.
the eyelet bushings press out.
the exlernal ones also come off and you will need the apropriate ones.
betd sell them.

Aha! I found the tool on the website. Will just use the slimmer ones from the old shock.
thanks
That doesn't sound at all right, what shock Are you replacing? If a fox for another fox, the bushings should be the same size, if it's another make shock then it could be a different width & it's the fitting kit that's the issue as per RH's post
As the bushings is a sacrificial part, whats going to happen when 'the small ones' wear out? If it is a fox for a fox replacement, How much wider are the new ones? If seemingly a mm or so, I'd persevere and try and make it fit...
Its a fox triad thats broken and a fox Rp2 thats replacing it.
There are wide silver bushes? on the new shock. The old one has a slimmer one at one end and an internal bush at the other. It looks like it would fit without the silver bits. Am I confusing the silver bits for bushes? Maybe they are not bushes?
CRC say they come without bushes.
cbike tell me if i,m right.
on the 06 stumpy the bottom of the origonal triad has a small spacer either side and bushing in the middle.
the top has the ally top hat spacers.
my old bike was an 06 fsrxc and it,s got the same horst link as the stumpy.
aha spacers might be a better description? Can i swap them?
yep.swap the spacers from the bottom to the new shock.
the ally reducers from the top of the triad need to be pulled out(tool from tftuned)and put in the rp2(or new ones from them)
My mate has a worn out triad, was the rp2 from CRC £140? Its a toss up to know wether to get an RP2 or repair the triad for a similar price..
I'm trying the RP2 as the triad is rubbish. It seemed to have full rebound damping v slow or none at all. There were no intermediate settings. It was either too hard or blew through all its travel. I tried all sorts of pressures and settings.
When it expired while stationary in the hall at home by pissing oil all over the floor I couldn't really get upset.
If any one knows what length to buy that would be great? I've got one thats too long! Its going back unless anyone wants to furnish me with £140 for 1 Fox Racing Shox Float RP2 2008 - 215mm - 60mm Stroke
Does anyone know what the correct length for a stumpjumper 2006 is?
Further research indicates repair may be out of my budget. You have to order made to measure from a specialist or live with a crappy triad.
