For my daugher's birthday next April.

I'm looking to build up a new bike for her between now and then and not sure whether 20" would last that long. She's got a 52cm inside leg now so expecting her to grow a bit by April.

She's very confident on her 16" bike which does look too small now.

What size bikes are your kids on?

Unhelpfully I’m going by age rather than leg, I’ve never measured the kids, but the 20” bike came into play at about age 5y6mo for the boy and 4y6mo for the girl; the 24” came in at (IIRC) 7y6mo for the boy and, while he still uses that one for riding to school/shops, he’s moved on to 26” at 9.

We went 20” and held onto it as long as possible before jumping straight to 26”

Hi,

My son went from 16" to 24" at 8 years old (could have gone a year earlier easily in hindsight).

My 7 year old daughter is currently on a 14" and is short for age. She hopped on her brothers 24" and rode off on it the other day to wind him up! I guess I'll be looking at a 24" for her now too....

So I would say definitely 24" for your daughter by April if she is confident on a 16" now.

Hope that helps!

My rule is wheel size ( including tyre)  less than or equal to inside leg measurement.
