[Closed] 2 x 10 to 1 x 10

Hi. Looking for some advice if possible. I am thinking of changing my winter hack bike from a 2 x 10 set up to 1 x 10.

I know the general procedure, basically remove chainrings and replace with a single N/W chainring, replace chain and remove front derailleur but I wanted to check the following:

Chainring - Its currently on Deore cranks, will it be a 104 chainring I need?
Chain - I have a spare 11s chain, can this be used if I removed the necessary amount of links?

Any other pointers/tips before I order the parts in?
