Does anyone know of a 2 day trail with a pub or similar as your nights stop over that we pass on the way to the start in order to drop off provisions for 5 of us.
Ideally in the bottom half of the country. As its for a bit of fun and a laugh perhaps limit it to 35/40 miles each day.
Thanks
Dartmoor N-S? bivvy somewhere near the warren house inn.
Skipton-Barnard Castle with a stop off in Hawes?
Ridgeway??
SDW??
Ridgeway?
We don't have the kit to camp/bivvy so it needs to be somewhere that we can drop kit off on the way through and then head to the start location.
I'm doing the trans Cambrian next week over 2 days
The South Downs Way is @110 miles, but you could easily do an 80 mile section over 2 days. It also passes Stanmer Park and Friston Forest, which will provide a bit of extra fun!! Loads of accommodation options too.
Another for the Ridgeway here. Not terribly challenging (unless its been wet.... then clay clay clay !)
Your halfway stop is here : http://www.helenbrowningsorganic.co.uk/pub
They have a couple of rooms which are nothing much to shout about, but (and its a big but) the pub and the food is outstanding, much of it homegrown (including the meat) and the people who run it are fab too. Very relaxed.
So good I used it as a stop off for a surprise anniversary trip with Mrs.Pymwymis this year.
